Student-Teacher Partnership
Learning a musical instrument is a partnership between the student and teacher (and parents in the case of younger musicians). To ensure that each student gets the most out of his or her lessons, the following expectations are in place:
Students Responsibilities
Teacher Responsibilities
Preparedness and Practice
If a students arrive at a lesson without their required materials, we will try to make due, but the lesson may end ahead of the scheduled time.
If a student has not practiced in between lessons, the lesson will be spent practicing old material rather than introducing new material.
Attendance
In you need to cancel a lesson, please provide 48 hours notice. Refunds will not be given for prepaid lessons in this instance, but the cost of the lesson will be rolled into the next payment period.
If a student is ill or showing any symptoms of COVID-19, please do not attend the lesson. The 48-hour cancellation policy will be waived in the event of illness, and prepaid amounts will be rolled into the next payment period.
If a lesson needs to be cancelled by the teacher, as much notice as possible will be given. Any pre-payments for the lesson will be rolled into the next payment period.
Parents In The Lesson
Parents are more than welcome to sit in on their child's lesson at any time, however they must commit to being an observer only. It can be tempting to chime-in, but please restrain, to avoid interrupting the flow of the lesson.
